Blueprint for All - Entrepreneurship & Innovation workshop - The FD Consultant

Romesh was excited to help run an Entrepreneurship and Innovation workshop this week for young entrepreneurs aged 16-25, as part of a programme run by Blueprint for All.

Blueprint for All are an organisation who work with young people and communities to create an inclusive society in which everyone, regardless of their race, ethnicity or background can thrive.

Their programmes provide inspiration, opportunities, and support to talented young people from disadvantaged backgrounds, enabling them to succeed. Blueprint for All work with innovative organisations and businesses to address disparity of opportunity, so everyone’s talents, skills and perspectives are valued.

Having been introduced to the Blueprint for All team through CuleM Watches, who are a corporate supporter and partner, Romesh agreed to train budding entrepreneurs on Business Financial Basics and How to Finance a Business as part of The Building Futures: Entrepreneurship and Innovation (BFEI) programme.

The BFEI programme is a multi session course set over 4 days whose purpose is to enable Diverse Ethnic Heritage/NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training) young people to overcome practical barriers and secure the resources/ personalised support they need to succeed and gain employment or start their own business.

During the course, Romesh covered the key areas of:

(i) Business finance including Profitability and how to increase it

(ii) Cashflows and Forecasts and their importance to a business, and

(iii) Business Plan essentials

The students were encouraged to engage and participate with questions at various stages and a fun, competitive element was introduced with some quizzes, which seemed to go down very well with the participants! The aim was to cover important concepts in an engaging way, and to develop the understanding of the students in key business essentials.

Romesh looks forward to getting involved in other sessions with Blueprint for All in its future programmes.

"I really enjoyed contributing to this extremely worthwhile training programme for bright and aspiring young entrepreneurs. They are our future, and everyone deserves to be on a level playing field."
